The stores each keep your sales in their own reports. Bring those reports here, and the studio puts them together for you. It never signs in to a store: you download each report yourself and upload it.
- Bring in a report. Upload it as the store gives it: an Excel workbook (.xlsx) or a CSV file. KDP's royalty reports, Google Play's transaction report, Apple's, Kobo's, Draft2Digital's and any other with named columns all work.
- Check how it's read. The studio reads each table's columns by their names (the date, the title, the ISBN or ASIN, the marketplace, units, refunds, free units, pages read, the royalty and its currency) and shows you what it made of them. Change anything that's wrong, then count it. In a KDP workbook, the combined and orders tables are left out, as they repeat the sales in the other tables; you can count them if you like. Every sale needs its day: where a table's rows don't say, give the month its sales are from, and where its dates could be read two ways (03/04/2026), say whether the day or the month comes first. Rows of totals are left out.
- Your books, found. Each line is matched to your book, edition and format by its ISBN, by the store's own ID that you noted in the upload tracker (an ASIN, say), or by its title. Lines the studio can't place are listed: say which format each is once, and every report after that is matched the same way.
- Your figures. Units sold (less refunds), free units, pages read through Kindle Unlimited, and royalties by month, book, edition, format and store, over the months you choose. Royalties are shown in the currency you choose, at the European Central Bank's latest rates (not each sale's own day's); a currency it has no rate for is shown as it is.
- No double counting. The same file can't be brought in twice. When a report has sales on days another report from the same store already counted has, of the same formats and marketplaces, the studio asks before counting it: in their place, when it's the same sales (a report downloaded again, or a longer period), or as well, when they're different. A report whose every line was taken over is marked replaced.
KDP's pages read are counted as pages: what they earn is in KDP's payment report once KDP sets the month's rate.
