Price laws

Fixed book price laws in the countries you sell in, and what they ask of you as the publisher.

Some countries fix book prices by law: Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal and Japan among them. As the publisher, you set the price, and the law limits what sellers may take off. Where such a law applies, KDP asks you to set the same list price at every retailer.

The Pricing tab notes each law next to the marketplaces it touches, for the format and language of this edition. The summaries follow each country's law as of 12 October 2026; they aren't legal advice.
