Selling direct means readers buy from your own shop and you keep more of each sale. The card on the Store kits tab gathers what you need. The studio doesn't sell or upload anything: you put the files in your shop.
- The files: the newest EPUB that passed its checks, a PDF of the printed book if you built one, and the ebook cover for the product page. Each says if it's missing, or if it's out of date because the manuscript or the edition changed since: build it again on the book's page first. Books sold direct carry no DRM, as most authors sell them. The PDF has the printed book's pages, and its copyright page names the print edition's ISBN.
- A note for your readers: how to open the ebook on a Kindle, an iPhone, iPad or Mac, Android, a Kobo and a computer, in the edition's language where the studio has the note (English otherwise). Put it beside the ebook in your shop, or in the email readers get.
- Where to sell it: what BookFunnel, Payhip and Shopify cost, which files they take, how readers get their book, and who handles the sales tax, with where each rule comes from and when it was checked.
