Add a key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or OpenRouter in Settings, with the model you want it to use. When you set up a translation, choose to run it on your key: every stage then goes to your account, your provider bills you for it, and the studio charges only its pipeline fee, $0.25 per 1,000 words, from Studio credit.
The style bible, the voice chapters, the editor pass, the checks and the QA report all work the same way. How good the translation is depends on the model you choose.
On your own key, your provider's terms decide what happens to your text, not the studio's. Anthropic and OpenAI don't train their models on what their paid APIs are sent. Google's unpaid tier of the Gemini API is different: Google may use what you send to improve its products, and people may read it; on the paid tier it doesn't. With OpenRouter it depends on the provider each request goes to; its privacy settings can keep your requests away from providers that train on them. Check your provider's terms before you translate a book you care about.
