The board shows an edition's manuscript as cards, one for each chapter, in the order the editor has them.
- Synopses. Write what happens in a chapter in a few lines, before you write it or after. Synopses are kept beside the text, never in it: they don't go into the ebook or print.
- Stages. Mark each chapter planned, drafting, revising or done, and see how far the book has come.
- Scenes. A chapter's scenes, split where you put a scene break, with their first lines and words.
- Order. Drag a card to move its chapter, or use its arrows. The move goes into the editor's working copy, as moving it in the editor does, until you save a version.
- Plan first. Add chapters here and outline them before you write a word; "Write" opens each in the editor.
