Your manuscript's own pages (title page, dedication, contents, epigraphs, a thank-you page) come in with it.
The title page of a printed book is set from the edition: the title, then the subtitle and the series ("The Lantern Cycle, book 2") from its Details, the author, and in a translation the translators named under Contributors ("Translated from Polish by Anna Nowak", in the edition's language). An ebook keeps its manuscript's title page and gets the lines it doesn't have yet. The ebook also tells the stores its subtitle, its series and number, and every contributor with their role, which Apple Books and Kobo read.
On an edition's Back matter tab, the studio adds two more pages, written into every ebook and print build:
- "Also by" lists your other books in the edition's language: those under the same pen name whose edition in that language is live in a store (as its Uploads tab says). Each series comes in its order, by the number in each book's Details, then the books on their own. When this book is part of a series, it's listed in its place too. The page is made at every build, so when a new book goes live, the next build of each of your books lists it, and the book page says older builds are out of date.
- Newsletter page: right after the story ends, a page with your heading, what readers get for joining, and your sign-up page.
In an ebook, each title and the newsletter page link to the web: a title to its book page, which sends each reader to their own store, and only when that page is on. One ebook can then go to every store: Apple Books, Kobo and Google Play turn away ebooks that link to a rival's store. Print lists the titles and shows the sign-up page's address.
A page in your manuscript headed the same way, such as your own "Also by", is replaced by the studio's.
