Fixed book prices in Greece: what self-publishers need to know
Greece's fixed book price law covers printed books and ebooks. Here is what it asks of you as the publisher, and what KDP asks.
The facts
- The rule
- For books published in Greece in any language, or published abroad in Greek and sold in Greece, print and ebooks alike: you set the price, and for 18 months from the first edition every seller, you included, charges 90% to 100% of it. After a reprint, sellers keep to at least 80% of your price for twelve more months. Each book shows the month and year of its edition. Used books, and sales to the author, the state and non-profit bodies, are left out.

- What KDP asks
- Where a fixed book price law applies, KDP asks you to set the same list price at every retailer, and to tell the authorities where the law requires it.
